Pros & Cons

  • The culture that the company has worked so hard to achieve - they highly encourage collaborative working and commend staff on their achievements
  • The environment, level of support, and overall just the friendliness and willingness to help everyone in the office. A workplace has truly never felt like home the way DAA does
  • The best thing about working for DAA is the culture of the firm. There is a very welcoming and inclusive culture within the firm, with many social events, sports teams, and other events that allow you to feel like you belong. In addition, the work-life balance you can expect while working here is exceptional
  • The most amazing aspect of working at DAA has been fundamentally the people and culture that’s in the firm. You really feel like you belong and everyone wants to help each other out, gives you the time to teach/ mentor in any aspect. Additionally with mentorship, having the buddy system has made the process in learning/ and able to ask any questions, but at DAA you can go to anyone and as question and they always willing to help
  • Great support with work and work is interesting and varied, presents a good challenge
  • Fulltime in the city
  • If made to come up with the 'worst' thing about the firm, a minor drawback would be the discouragement to work from home
  • Would have to be the travel but I would have that at any company I worked for in the city
  • Location - commute would be 20 minutes if the office was in the CBD. Being in South Melbourne adds an extra 20 -30 minutes to the commute
  • There is no worst thing

Culture
DAA has a very strong culture. After hours, the social team hosts a variety of events to build culture and for team members to enjoy. During hours, we have events such as birthdays, Friday dimmie runs, end of month celebration etc. These are a great way to get to know your colleagues on a more casual and non work basis.

Diversity
At DAA we definitely have a wide diverse group of individuals with all different backgrounds, Everyone embraces you at the firm no matter what ethnicity you are, everyone is welcome, and everyone at DAA is part of another family. From Recruitment wise, the team does a fantastic job in bringing in the right people to the firm, and that speaks on the retention in retaining the people here. I have only seen 1 or 2 people leave DAA since I've been working at DAA and that's amazing to see. I think everyone here at DAA feels the same way I do, and it ticks a lot of boxes.

The office space is very nice and tidy. We have 3 levels, ground, L1, L2, and a rooftop bar which is good for Friday drinks. The dress code is smart casual and is pretty relaxed.

I did not select my role based on my salary but I did expect it to be approx 5k-10k more than what was offered. I had other offers that were more than my current salary for similar experience but overall chose this role for the culture, location, and type of work and am hopeful my salary will increase eventually.

It's most definitely a factor on trying to be as environmentally friendly as possible in the realm of an office. We definitely have many bins for food wastage, recycling, and general waste. We do our best to follow that, and for the kitchen, we have electric stoves, no gas.
