Job Satisfaction at Allens

I have a good balance of client work and business development work. I have ample opportunity to learn about a variety of different types of work within the TMT sector, and to work with a variety of Allens lawyers and clients.

Lawyer in Disputes & Investigations team.

As a rotator, I often get the opportunity to take a first cut at transaction documents and reviewing comments once received from the client or the other side.

Variety of tasks for a variety of people, over various subject matter - never on the same topic, very little to no repetitive work - great for learning.

I like my role but feel I need to be challenged more, given more repsonsibility.

As a first-year grad, I've already had substantive experience drafting court documents, correspondence to other parties and the court, and contacting clients. I am currently on three big matters, and my ordinary day is usually quite evenly split between them. It usually involves doing some kind of internal- or external-facing drafting, meetings, and some more mundane matter management things (eg, keeping our folders up to date, checking availabilities).

As a junior lawyer, I draft documents, liaise between matter stakeholders, attend meetings and other ad hoc legal tasks

I don't think that I'm given the appropriate level of responsibility day to day in my team.

Varies every day, but generally there will be advice work, transaction work, legal project management, legal research, article writing

Very diverse roles and responsibilities. From drafting advices, attending to due diligences, assisting on pro bono matters, and completing any other ad hoc tasks I receive instructions on.

Each day is varied and the work is interesting. The teams are non-siloed, so I get to continually work with different people, on different types of matters.
