Our strategy

At Steadfast, we define Diversity as the different ways in how we express our identity, undertake our work, share our opinions, think and problem-solve. It encompasses gender, ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation, socio-economic background, language, cultural heritage, religious beliefs, family and caring responsibilities and education.

Our diversity is reflected in the way our employees choose to show up at work and the unique strengths, experiences and perspectives they all contribute in the pursuit of excellence for all our stakeholders.

The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategy is aimed at promoting a work environment where every individual is encouraged to bring their “whole-self” to work and perform at their best.

Promoting a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment at Steadfast is critical to ensure that the organization can continue to:

  • Attract and retain the very best diverse talent in the market
  • Achieve its core business goal of ensuring its broker network can provide stakeholders with exceptional service and superior products
  • Continue to offer stakeholders scale, capability and agility by leveraging innovation through diversity

Inclusion is how we bring diversity to life within Steadfast. It’s a choice about demonstrating the behaviours and values that promote inclusion for all.

The key pillars through which we deliver our strategy for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion are:

  1. Systems and Resources – Ensuring our organisational systems promote diversity by removing bias, increasing transparency and ensuring consistency in our people processes. Providing resources that promote diversity and inclusion such as training, hosting awareness-raising events and showcasing and promoting diversity through internal and external communications.
  2. Behaviours & Values – Promoting and role-modelling the TOGETHER values to promote inclusion and holding each other accountable for non-inclusive behaviours.
  3. Visibility & Leadership – Creating opportunities to achieve greater visibility of diverse employees at all levels of the organisation and ensuring leaders role model inclusion and advocate for diversity internally and externally.

Implementing our strategy for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is integral to the ongoing success of Steadfast. Our key priority focus areas are:

  • Gender – increasing the representation and visibility of women in leadership roles
  • LGBTQI+ - increasing the acceptance of LGBTIQ+ people and raising awareness of key barriers and issues faced
  • Disability – promoting greater understanding of barriers faced by employees with disabilities, showcasing success stories and review employment opportunities to increase representation over time
  • Inclusive Culture – ensuring organisational processes are inclusive, promoting and celebrating diverse role models and creating more opportunities for employees to directly engage in advocacy for diversity, equity and inclusion.
