Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Graduate Civil Engineer to join the Infrastructure group in Brisbane.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Assist the Lead Civil Engineer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost and schedule 
  • Assist in defining and documenting project scope
  • Prepare and support the development of the Project Execution Plan (PEPs) in consultation with the Lead Civil Engineer. This is to include the development of work breakdown structures (WBS) associated with the scope of works. 
  • Perform conceptual and detailed digital models and engineering design 
  • Contribute and/or prepare engineering calculations 
  • Contribute and/or prepare technical specifications 
  • Contribute and/or prepare technical memos and reports, within areas of expertise 
  • Provide input to design, engineering cost estimates 
  • Prepare and/or review project procedures, standard specifications and design criteria
  • Participate in and contribute to design reviews in accordance with the quality management system 
  • Understand and implement design review requirements in accordance with the Quality Management System (IQMS) 
  • Review and evaluate technical work prepared by junior engineers, designers, technicians and technologists. 
  • Coordination with designers and engineers within the civil discipline and with other disciplines 
  • Construction supervision and management dependent upon project demands 
  • Prepare and contribute to the submission of proposal work incorporating the Hatch defined winning work process 
  • Understanding of relevant codes and standards. 

You bring to the role:

  • BSc/B.Eng degree in civil engineering
  • Registration as a chartered/professional engineer. Alternatively, registration as a candidate professional engineer actively working towards professional registration
  • 0 to 3 years project engineering experience
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to function with minimal supervision
  • Sound understanding of design engineering codes and technical standards
  • Good safety awareness.
