Pros & Cons

  • From day one, you get to get involved with important and impactful projects. You're given responsibility and ownership of different project elements and you're never made to feel less then anyone else on the team, no matter your level.
  • The amount of support your colleges and Deloitte as a whole provides. Always room for progression at Deloitte with numerous networking opportunities.
  • Getting to work on projects that I am passionate about. When I was researching Deloitte during the application process I discovered their involvement with Sydney Worldpride 2023 which was an encouraging reason to pursue the application. One of the first projects I was assigned was the WorldPride project. I come to work excited to contribute to an event that has personal significance to me.
  • Opportunities to learn and grow, regular coaching and check-ins, inclusive and supportive, paid training days and exams for accreditation, takes well-being seriously, flexible working and career paths. opportunities to work independently and in teams
  • Deloitte Flex. Having the most flexibility between personal and professional life is great.
  • Great team culture. Great mentoring and coaching for career development. Wide variety of projects and opportunities to be exposed to a wide range of industries.
  • Can sometimes get stuck on projects you're not passionate about but people will support you if you want to go onto other projects
  • It's both good and bad but you are dropped in the deep end straight away. This can be quite intense but is a great way to learn
  • Working from home is a bit tough without the social interaction, and can make networking a challenge.
  • Due to fast progression and gaining lots of experience you need to teach yourself a lot using the firm's resources which is a skill that you build in itself.
  • Being exposed to many different and new things at once.

Deloitte is extremely flexible - with the new 'Deloitte Experience' policies we have the flexibility to work from home where it is suitable, shift our working hours to finish earlier/later, and take a paid wellbeing day each year. There is a big focus on not overworking yourself, so in instances where we have to start early or finish late due to client commitments, managers are always happy to accommodate you taking that time off elsewhere.
