Your role

An individual who can play a key role in simplifying their current new product development process and recommend improvements by engaging with the wider team whilst utilizing your food scientist background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all coordination and administration support of New Product Scale-Ups / Commercialization / Cost Saving Projects.
  • Running low-complexity product trials and commercialization execution for Senior Scientists and Managers:
    • Attend Pre-Run and Planning calls as Research, Development and Applications (RD&A) point of contact
    • Complete the Pre-run checklist and attend trials to validate mixing instructions, and process parameters.
    • Troubleshoot during trials (some time will be needed for Commercialised product troubleshooting as well)
    • Post-trial: Review process, processing instructions, align with Scientist and other team members
    • Collect relevant Research and Development (R&D) samples e.g. shelf-life/analytical samples, and customer samples and assist in shelf-life studies as needed by RD&A Scientists. 
    • Post-run product assessment (physical properties, analytical data and sensory)
  • Key contact for process and systems enhancement, working collaboratively with a wider RD&A team. 
  • System and administration support, relating to all recipe and ingredient changes. 
  • Working with the Quality Department to manage and maintain any controlled documentation requiring R&D input.
  • Expand product knowledge by cross-training in other technologies. 
  • Assist the ANZ RD&A team in other tasks and projects as requested by the Manager on an ad hoc basis.

About you

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology/Science, or any similar field. 
  • Open to fresh graduates or those with 1 year of experience in the flavour house or food ingredients industry. 
  • Strong interpersonal, self-organizing, multitasking and project management skills.
