Job Description

We’re the Health Insurance Fund of Australia, but our friends call us HIF and we have an exciting opportunity for a People Experience Graduate to join our team. This graduate position is a 2-year fixed-term learning program, that offers the opportunity to gain valuable workplace skills in all things people culture, talent, facilities management, and office administration. We are looking for someone who has recently completed a qualification, has exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and is looking for the opportunity to act as a brand ambassador in all aspects of their work, ensuring HIF maintains strong employee engagement to deliver outstanding member experience.

This role provides all-around support to the People Experience Team, the wider business, and its stakeholders. Within the first year of this role, our Graduate will assist in coordinating the office environment including facilities and security management, as well as learning all components of the recruitment process and the maintenance of employee records. In the second year, our Graduates will have higher-level responsibilities, such as managing event coordination and leading the development of health and wellness initiatives in the workplace. Due to the nature of the role, it will be predominantly based in the office with the opportunity to work from home on occasion.

Throughout this appointment, some of the responsibilities will include;

  • Assist with office coordination duties as required, including but not limited to: office inventory and supply orders, vendor relationship management, and being the first point of contact for internal maintenance, and the quality of the office environment (which includes cleaning service matters)
  • Work with the wider People Experience team to timeline recruitment activities, inductions, onboarding, and employee check-ins
  • Manage and promote occupational health and safety culture
  • Assist with recruitment activities, including advertising, screening, scheduling, and interviews
  • Involvement in HIF’s Social Club and actively work to build HIF’s internal culture
  • Manage the creation, budget, and execution of internal and external events

There are also some essential demonstrated skills and experience we are looking for in our ideal candidate;

  • Tech-savvy individual who can adapt to new systems quickly and with ease – including but not limited to Canva, Adobe CS, Social Media platforms, Mailchimp & LiveHire
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a part of a multi-task orientated team
  • Exceptional time management and prioritization skills 
  • Well-developed and proven communication skills
  • Strong experience in providing customer service excellence
  • Ability to be self-managed, hands-on, and proactive across the board
  • Knowledge of HR organizational policies and practices would be advantageous but not essential
