Pretty good, I feel like it's more linear then a vertical. My coordinator and manager are very open.

The culture within the finance department is really good. Everyone is very supportive and professional. I have really enjoyed my time working there so far. There are 4 finance departments who report directly to the Chief Financial Office, she reports to the Executive General Manager who then reports to the CEO.

The culture the is spoken about is great. It has come about through a re-structuring, and I think it is slowly but surely filtering through the workplace which is exciting. There is still some teething and learning but it is very much on its way. It is flexible, kind, high-performing, has a strong work-life balance, motivated and excited by the work we get to contribute to the City.

There is a healthy engagement with all levels of the organisational structure as part of the 2024 Graduate Academy Program. I have had opportunities to meet, talk and listen to the CEO, the Mayor, Councillors, Directors and General Managers of other departments, as well as operational staff in various sectors on the organisation during scheduled day events. I have participated in departmental social challenges that are run regularly, such as step challenges, squat challenges, airplane competitions etc. I have also been invited to comedy show nights with staff and department dinners, or even regular lunches to celebrate additions to the team, birthdays or farewells.

Good culture within my team, we have had frequent catch ups outside of standard work hours for social events. Managers promote healthy work habits and are very approachable. Culture within the company as a whole is not as good as teams seem to clash with each other, making teamwork more difficult.

In the office, my current team is a team of diversity. Everyone is super nice and patient, we also have after hour social activities such as rafting or bowling.

Socialising amongst colleagues is easy despite the difference in age.

The culture at the City is great. 9 day fortnights are a huge factor in creating a good work life balance, and the work from home options mean that there is a lot less commuting which also contributes to a better balance. No one is expected to work outside of work hours, meaning your free time is your free time, uninterrupted. In office the culture is good. Regular leadership meetings to give feedback and collaborate. There have been a few changes in management causing some uncertainty, however the organisation navigated this well. The contract nature of the work can sometimes hinder the atmosphere, as it can feel like people are competing for jobs or unable to bond with their team as they know they won't be here after a certain date.
