Commencing in January 2025, our program provides professional development training and on-the-job experience pathways, designed to help bridge the gap from academic study to the work environment. As a graduate at the City, you will have many opportunities available to you:

What’s on offer

The Legal Services Branch provides legal advice to the Mayor, Councillors, CEO, Directors, Managers and Officers on all issues that may arise in accordance with core business related to Council activities, resources or assets. Our branch protects and supports the City of Gold Coast and its reputation by providing legal advice to meet the legislative and legal standards of a Local Government organisation including rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

The graduate position will gain exposure to:

• Planning & Environment, Compliance and Regulatory Services
• Corporate, Commercial, Property and Work Health and Safety
• General Counsel - corporate governance, meeting processes and councillor liaison 
• Employment and Industrial Law
