Commencing in January 2025, our program provides professional development training and on-the-job experience pathways, designed to help bridge the gap from academic study to the work environment. As a graduate of the City, you will have many opportunities available to you:

What’s on offer

Graduates will have an opportunity to work across the entire Environmental, Heritage, and Resilience department which leads the preservation and enhancement of Gold Coast's natural assets, balances city growth and environmental preservation, and addresses climate change challenges and impacts.

Graduates will work with a variety of stakeholders across the Council, all levels of government, industry, consultancies, research institutions and landholders to achieve environmental outcomes that benefit the community and achieve the City's strategic, corporate, and on-ground/tangible environmental objectives.

Graduates will gain exposure to areas including catchment management, environmental planning, natural areas conservation, Our Natural City Strategy as well as environmental management and scientific services to ensure the City’s infrastructure and assets are delivered and operated in an environmentally responsible manner ensuring positive environmental outcomes in balance with the needs of the community.
