About Thales Group Australia

Thales is a global technology leader with more than 81,000 employees on five continents. The Group is investing in digital and “deep tech” innovations – Big Data, artificial intelligence, connectivity, cybersecurity, and quantum technology – to build a future we can all trust.

Your role

The corporate team is a central hub for Thales Australia. It’s where Thales' shared services come together to make sure the teams across Australia have access to the business services they need. Cross-functional collaboration helps them build out Thales’ capabilities in a robust way and the Trade Compliance function is key to this.

Working from the Melbourne Office in the World Trade Centre on Wurundjeri land, your role as a Graduate Trade Compliance Specialist will see you learn and develop knowledge and skills on the matters of import and export customs compliance, export and broader trade control regimes, namely Australian and U.S. export laws, and on the application of economic sanctions and other global trade regulations.

What could your day look like?

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of trade compliance programs
  • Conducting research on export control regulations, customs regulations, and other international trade laws and policies
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and other cross-functional areas to review and classify products for export control classifications and customs tariff codes
  • Support the preparation of import/export documentation
