Your role

This position is focused on power systems stability modelling and analysis. The intern is expected to demonstrate a solid theoretical background in EMT and dynamic modelling of power systems, renewable energy resources, and converter-interfaced devices. They should have solid and hands-on experience using positive sequence tools like (PSSE/DIgSILENT/PSLF) and EMT tools (preferably PSCAD) for dynamics/transient simulations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work closely with project engineers and power systems engineers
  • Perform EMT and RMS dynamics simulations for battery energy storage systems
  • Perform model benchmark and overlay
  • Prepare generator connection study reports
  • Prepare to commission hold point test reports

Training & development

Perform meaningful work from day one. Tesla will challenge you to take on high-impact projects, expand your technical skills and exceed your own expectations. Tesla expects interns to perform to the same level of excellence as their full-time employees—which is why Tesla often hires them back. Experience one-on-one mentorship, interactive networking events, and weekly seminars within Tesla’s exceptional community of experts. Tesla interns collaborate across disciplines, borders, and production lines to support its shared mission of accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable energy.

Benefits

Interns receive competitive compensation, one-on-one mentorship, and comprehensive healthcare. Internships also include transportation support, the ability to participate in employee stock purchase programs (when eligible), discounted merchandise, fitness programs, and more.

Work-life balance

Tesla provides employees and their families benefits like medical, dental, vision coverage, 401(k), and generous paid time off from day one. With flexible scheduling, fitness resources, and stock benefits for everyone, Tesla invests in team members to help them do their best work.
