Your role

The Tesla Energy team is committed and fast-moving. The Project Engineering team ensures the successful deployment of Tesla utility scale battery energy storage projects. As a member of the team, you will help shape the success of projects in various applications across Australia, Asia-Pacific and globally.  You must have a genuine passion for engineering products that fundamentally change the world’s energy infrastructure and a desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist the Project Engineering team with the preparation of equipment specifications and tendering.
  • Work closely with the team to support the balance of plant design reviews
  • Assist the Project Engineering team with the design, coordination, execution, and documentation of test plans and reports
  • Perform site-based construction monitoring, auditing, and quality inspections
  • Support fault-finding, root cause reporting, analysis of SCADA data, protection relay events
  • Incorporation of lessons learnt into continuous improvement of specifications, scoping documents, processes, test report templates and automation

About you

Here’s what they are looking for in this role:

  • Graduate or student of academic studies in electrical, energy or power systems engineering
  • Control systems knowledge, understanding of power systems and electrical design
  • Proven experience in software development to solve complex problems
  • Interest in progressing a career related to energy markets and utilities and battery storage
  • Ability to breakdown complex engineering ideas
  • Ability to execute many projects and tasks in parallel
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
