 About MRPV

Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) was established to deliver a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of key road projects across Victoria, including new roads, road widenings, new bridges and major freeway upgrades. MRPV manages complex and strategically important road projects from business case development through to completion connecting local communities and supporting Victoria's growing economy.

As part of the Winter Internship program, we are looking for multiple interns to join our growing team across various Victoria locations. The internship program aims to build the next generation of diverse and inclusive talent ready for careers in transport.

We are looking for interns in the following areas to join our growing teams:

  • Engineering (Civil)

You'll be exposed to the design, development, and delivery of upgrades to Victoria’s roads. You'll have the opportunity to learn about reviewing designs, contractor works, and program and design track.

The MRPV office locations for our Civil Interns will be in the following areas: Dandenong, Essendon Fields, Narre Warren, Traralgon, Geelong, and Melbourne CBD.

  • Human Resources

You’ll support the Industry Capability and Development team in creating a skilled and inclusive workforce and be given the chance to build practical capabilities in various HR projects such as employment programs and Cadetships. You'll also learn about HR data and analytics, and gain insight into the data-driven approaches of HR.

  • Social Value & Inclusion

You’ll support the team with initiatives to build a more diverse and inclusive workforce and supply chain to help build Victoria’s roads.

  • Procurement & Commercial

Procurement - You'll help manage the purchase of goods and services required to support the operation of different projects. You'll learn about the relevant procurement guidelines and policies that Victorian Government agencies must abide by.

Commercial – You'll assist in supporting the commercial team in all aspects of commercial advice, this may include aiding in business case development, contractor negotiations and procurement strategies.

  • Information Technology

You'll have the opportunity to learn about key IT areas, including information management, systems analysis, and project management.

As an intern at MRPV, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience related to your current studies. You'll be part of a team delivering a range of road projects, and you'll be able to see the impact of this work as you travel through the state each day.

Winter Internship Information & Eligibility

The position will be for a fixed-term period of up to 6 months. The internship will be on a full time or part-time basis where hours will be flexible to suit your Uni timetable. If you are looking to get some hands-on experience in a supportive environment – this is the role for you!

You do not need previous relevant experience to apply for this position - all you need is a positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn.
