Job Description

Nexus Silicon is looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join our client in Sydney, NSW office. This person is responsible for the end-to-end planning, building, and deploying of our software systems. He/she will be able to drive the programming of well-constructed, testable code.

The ideal candidate will have a broad technical background, a solid understanding of applicable analytics, and a natural curiosity for producing effective solutions. This person is patient, has excellent time-management skills, and practices of effective communication style.

The Operations Division is responsible for the development and maintenance of core Technical Products, which include: 

  • A marketing website 
  • Main Product (Portal Application) 
  • CRM for Client management and reporting 

Technical Skills: 

  • Excellent command over react JS- concepts, libraries, state management, Next.js etc. 
  • Experience with HTML/CSS, Tailwind CSS 
  • Understanding of CMS like WordPress and Strapi is desirable 
  • Integrating data from third-party apps using REST API 
  • Experience with Cloud platforms like AWS, Heroku, Netlify, etc  is a bonus, but not essential

  • Delivers tested, bug-free builds 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, be responsible while working in a team and understand end-user needs 
  • Proactive in learning new technologies 
  • Good communication skills, ability to convey their thoughts and suggestions clearly and understand the requirements clearly 

Our client is a Financial Services company located in Sydney, NSW. We provide research, advisory and corporate finance transactions to both retail and wholesale clients, focusing on ASX-listed Equities and ETFs.

What we are looking for: 

  • Graduating/penultimate year student OR Entry level Experienced candidate (0-2 years experienced) with a related tertiary education (Computer Science related degree 
  • This is an unpaid intern position, with the possibility of conversion into a permanent full-time role.
