About the Graduate Program:

Our Law Squared Graduates will rotate through each of our practice groups over a 12-month period. Graduates will also complete an initial onboarding with our Digital + Innovation team, bringing them up to speed with our leading-edge technology stack so they are ready to hit the ground running heading into our key practice areas; Employment + Workplace Relations, Corporate + Commercial and Disputes + Litigation. Giving graduates real exposure to client matters and on the job training in a dynamic business.

Graduates will have immediate exposure to client matters and be involved in a range of client relationship building and partnership events, providing graduates with exposure to client matters and on-the-job training in a dynamic business.

We know how hard it can be to balance work, study and life so our Graduates receive a competitive salary and are offered additional study leave, beyond their regular annual leave entitlements, to complete their PLT.  Graduates are also able to take advantage of our flexible workplace environment.

Learning & Development Program:

At Law Squared, we tailor your Learning + Development to support your specific career goals and aspirations. We believe in collaboration at all levels, so Graduates will work with People + Operations to set goals, identify and prioritise commercial skills and technical legal training required.

Outside formal training, Graduates will start building real world legal expertise by working directly on client matters from the get-go, learning from experienced peers and building positive, productive relationships with clients.

Practical Legal Training (PLT):

As part of our Graduate Program, Law Squared will:

  • Offer full-time employment for a 12-month period;
  • Cover the cost of your PLT and admission; and
  • Provide you with up to 10 days paid leave (separate to your annual leave entitlements) to attend and carry out assessments to complete PLT.

Eligibility:

The Law Squared Graduate Program is open to all LLB / JD Graduates across Australia - noting successful candidates would need to relocate to Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane to take up their Graduate position.

Candidates for the Law Squared Graduate Program will need to:

  • have successfully completed their relevant law degree (either LLB or JD) by December 31, 2023. (NB: Successful completion does not require you to have attended your graduation ceremony, but have successfully completed all units of compulsory study).
  • have not previously completed PLT previously (exceptions may apply and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis),
  • have not been admitted to practice in Australia, or hold a practising certification prior to, or during the graduate program; and
  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

Application Process (PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY!):

Unlike other law firms, we don’t want to see your academic transcript or a cover letter. We know there’s more to you than your exam results and so we want you to be creative..

So be creative. Send us a video, a story, a photo, a poem, or even write us a song! Help us get to know the real you; what drives you, what you’re passionate about and we want to get an idea of who you are and why you should be selected to become a Law Squared Graduate.

There are two parts to our graduate application process:

  1. Create a Swag profile and attach your CV
  • Follow the Apply Now link and set up a profile with Swag.
  • Once your account is set up, jump straight to section 2 and fill in your Personal Information. You do not need to complete any of the additional Profile Details (e.g. Education, Certifications, Cover Letter).
  • Attach your Resume / CV and submit your application via Swag

    2. Send us your creative submission
  • Email your creative submission to careers@lawsquared.com - clearly mark this email with your full name, as per your Swag profile.

Remember your creative submission can be in any file format (PDF, JPEG, PowerPoint, MP3. audio file, MP4 video file etc).

*IMPORTANT - Please note:

  • any application that does not include both a CV and creative will not be accepted
  • cover letter or additional profile information will not be accepted nor reviewed by the recruitment panel
  • a successful application requires (1) creative submission and (2) CV – if these criteria are not met, your application will not be considered.
