Your Role

  • Answering Help Desk calls (1st call resolution).
  • Troubleshooting repairs/issues or escalating as needed
  • Installing software
  • Perform data cleanses
  • Install, test, and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment, and software
  • Modify configurations, utilities, and software default settings for local workstations
  • Document internal procedures
  • Maintain, track and report project status and metrics
  • Develop approaches for deploying IT solutions to meet organizational requirements
  • Scheduling of services

Career Progression

This internship opportunity will provide the applicant experience with progressive responsibility and experience.  The work will be hands-on support of the various missions at the EROS (Earth Resources Observation and Science) Center The applicant will be assigned a mentor.  The interns will telecommute from campus with travel to the EROS Center as their schedule permits and as the project requires. This position holds the potential for full-time employment upon graduation, pending project funding.

About You

  • Excellent Customer service skills
  • Ability to install, update and troubleshoot computer/laptop hardware and software.
  • Windows 10 experience
  • Knowledge of personal computers and a solid understanding of computer networks.
  • Ability to address moderately complex technical issues and work on problems of diverse scope
  • Willing to learn the most up-to-date IT methods.
  • Knowledge of ITIL is beneficial.
  • A+ Certification or MTA desired.
  • Follow helpdesk/desktop support best practices (ITIL-centric) to ensure accurate, timely problem resolution.
  • Working towards a Degree in Information Technology or a related field or equivalent
  • 0 to 3 years of customer service/technical training experience working in a fast-paced team-oriented, high-demand, collaborative environment.
