ABOUT THE ROLE

Servicing corporate, governmental, and non-governmental clients globally, International SOS, a pioneer & leader in International Health & Security Risk provides tailored support through our 27 Assistance Centers worldwide.

As a Security Specialist, Information & Analysis, you will undertake the collection and processing of information & analysis to provide timely security assessments and advice to International SOS’ clients and internal stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect and process security information through all-source research, processing and analysis ensuring client-facing security standing information is up-to-date, relevant and reflective of the current situation.
  • Collaborate extensively with the Content Services professional community of researchers, multimedia specialists and editors to deliver a shared vision of audience-centric and multimedia digital production.
  • Report and escalate security or disruption issues affecting International SOS clients in line with reporting guidelines and thresholds.
  • Conducting research into specific security-related questions in order to maintain operational planning and readiness as required by informing International SOS’ operational posture.
  • As required, deliver safety and security training and workshops as well as engage in client-specific security intelligence consultancy tasks as required

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in security intelligence or related field: military, government, NGO, journalism; relevant academic studies are desirable
  • International work experience is desired.
  • Recent Graduates in relevant security studies/international relations are encouraged to apply

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong knowledge of the political and security landscape within Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands and global security issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to explain complex situations to non-expert audiences.
  • Ability to critically analyse multiple streams of information under time pressure and produce actionable insights.

QUALIFICATION

  • Minimum requirement of degree level (or relevant professional training) in a field related to security, risk management, international politics or international relations
