Your role

The Programme provides you with the knowledge, exposure and skillset on which successful banking and finance careers are built. Throughout the Programme you will be:

  • Working on both local and international large-scale complex transactions
  • Interacting with team leads across regional and global stakeholders and supporting our clients with their needs across a full range of financial and product services
  • Working in tight-knit deal teams, gaining exposure to all aspects of a transaction, including analysing market data, building financial models attending client meetings
  • Providing some of the world’s largest companies with complex financial solutions
  • Building your experience, international network and professional career

You will build key transferable skills through a combination of real-time workplace-based learning and formal training development opportunities throughout the Programme. The Programme is designed to support you to identify your strengths and showcase them at the end of your rotations.

Training & development

The work you will do during the 24-month rotational Programme is fast-paced and collaborative and will provide you with the opportunity to partner with industry-leading professionals and their passionate teams. In the Graduate Programme, you will complete four rotations working across HSBC’s Global Banking division. The rotations may include their coverage teams as well as their product offerings, including, Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged and Acquisition Finance, Real Asset Finance and Structured Finance.

To be considered for their Programme candidates must have:

  • Completed a Bachelor's or Master’s degree with a credit or distinction plus average preferred
  • Be able to commence full-time employment 
  • Be either in your final year of university or have no more than 2 years of full-time work experience
  • Prior work or intern experience within a related field will be highly regarded as well as any unique experience or skills which make you unique
  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency or full working rights.
