Through our coaching and training programs, you’ll develop the skillsets you need to stay relevant today and in the future – all while building a network of colleagues, mentors, and leaders who will be on the journey with you at EY and beyond.

The Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) team is the biggest sustainability consulting team in Oceania. Our multidisciplinary teams help companies understand the risks and opportunities arising from climate change and sustainability issues, advising a large proportion of the ASX 200 to help them drive performance beyond their bottom line.

Our team works across the full spectrum of sustainability and climate change issues, including environmental, social and governance (“ESG”) strategy, outcomes measurement, climate risk and decarbonisation, human rights and modern slavery through advisory and assurance engagements.

What’s in it for you?

As a graduate, you’ll be part of our 12-month graduate development program that has been developed for graduates in all service lines, and is focused on connection, learning and celebration.

The program will provide you with the opportunity to network with your peers from other service lines and geographies. Running in parallel to your technical learning, you will develop leadership skills to become a successful graduate, and as you grow as a transformative leader.

As a Climate change and sustainability services graduate, you’ll take part in:

  • Technical training across our sustainability, climate change, outcomes measurement, community impact and environment, health and safety competencies
  • Soft skill and interpersonal training such as presentation training, project management, reporting writing and client engagement skills
  • Participation in our Annual Oceania CCaSS training event which incorporates technical training with high calibre external presentations and thought leaders

Your key responsibilities

  • Work on a variety of EY clients from small business to multinational corporations
  • Assist EY clients with greenhouse gas emissions and energy monitoring, reporting and reduction opportunities
  • Contribute to providing independent assurance of a client’s sustainability report by checking the accuracy of reported data and statements in its sustainability report
  • Develop or assess client’s climate change and sustainability strategies, sustainability reports and data collection processes
  • Assist clients with understanding new and emerging sustainability reporting standards, including climate-related disclosures
  • Gain an understanding of the political, regulatory, market and community drivers related to sustainability and identify how they might impact on a client

What will you bring to the team?

Here’s our ‘wish list’ but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your strengths, what you want to learn, and how far you want to go.

  • A passion and desire to change the world for the better
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to change language to suit client audience and needs
  • The ability to analyse and interpret datasets (including quantitative and qualitative information)
  • The ability to apply self-directed learning to understand new sustainability standards and compliance requirements and apply this information quickly
  • Strong business process and analytical skills
  • Dedication to collaboration, teamwork and inclusive leadership
  • The ability to solve complex problems and adapt to challenging situations
  • The ability to think creatively and generate ideas
  • Passion to contribute to a better working world by driving sustainable outcomes with our clients
