Your role

The Vacation Program offers students the chance to develop both technical and business skills under the mentorship of a seasoned technical leader, providing guidance and overseeing their growth. Participants gain hands-on experience, an individualized development plan, a robust support network, and the opportunity to take ownership of real-world projects.

Designed to help students gain industry exposure and build a pathway into the Graduate Program, the Vacation Program aims to leave participants feeling confident and enthusiastic about the possibility of a future with Evolution.

About the role 

You will report to the Senior Geologist and contribute across the Geology and Core Yard teams. The program will run from the beginning of December 2024 until the end of February 2025.  

You will gain exposure to: 

• Tasks required of Geologists (including, but not limited to drill rig inspections, daily reporting requirements, geological logging of drill core and chips, geological mapping, and managing data)  
• Core yard processing objectives (including, but not limited to core processing, sample dispatch and workflow management)

About you

You have to meet the following requirements to be considered for this role:

• Have the right to work in the relevant jurisdiction before commencing employment
• Be in your penultimate year of study  
• Currently pursuing a degree in Geology, Geoscience, Geophysics, or a related field.

Career progression

Upon the successful completion of your Vacation Program, you may be offered to continue working with Evolution on a part-time or casual basis. The intent for this program is to build a strong pipeline into their Graduate Program and to continue to support your career development with them.
