Your role

At Northparkes, they are known for having innovative, technical and collaborative people. The operations include block caving, sub-level caving and open pit and was the first mine in Australia to use the block cave mining method. They’re committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace with a long mine life and a vision of a century of mining together.  

You will be part of the Community & Engagement team. The program will run from the beginning of December 2024 until the end of January 2025.  

You will gain exposure to:  

• Content creation assistance  
• Events support  
• Assist with crafting internal communications

About you

Evolution Mining is looking for the following parameters from you:

• Have the right to work in the relevant jurisdiction before commencing employment.  
• Be in your penultimate year of study.  
• Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.

Training & development

The intent of the Vacation Program is to support students who are looking to gain exposure to the industry and build a strong pipeline into the Graduate Program. At the end of your Program, they want you to walk away feeling confident and excited that your first experience with Evolution may not be your last. Many of their past Vacation Program students have gone on to join their Graduate Program.

When it comes to career pathways, working for an agile, entrepreneurial mining business means you’ll be exposed to ample opportunities to experience career progression, and you’ll have the chance to engage in a broad range of diverse experiences.

Career progression

Upon the successful completion of your Vacation Program, you may be offered to continue working with them on a part-time or casual basis. The intent for this program is to build a strong pipeline into their Graduate Program and to continue to support your career development with them.
