The Environmental Graduate at Evolution will be responsible for monitoring activities in the environmental department to ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations in addition to the Evolution Mining Red Lake Operation Sustainability Excellence Management System (SEMS).

The purpose of the graduate program is to develop experience and gain exposure within the site Environment/Sustainability function.

  • Focus on your development with Individual Development Plans, mentors, and face to face development workshops focusing on professional and business management skills
  • Exposure to Senior Leaders throughout our Corporate and Operational teams
  • International exposure to both Canadian and Australian operations and jurisdictions

About our Operation

Our Red Lake Operation is located in an area where you will experience the best in Northern lifestyle, in the heart of a lake-studded, boreal forest region in Sunset Country. Red Lake is known for its natural beauty, abundant wildlife, and incredible Canadian fishing in the many freshwater lakes in the area. The Red Lake district is located 180 kilometers north of Dryden about 100 kilometers from the Manitoba border in North-western Ontario, Canada. It spans 42,000 hectares and has produced over 29 million ounces of gold since 1949. Our Red Lake Operation includes the Red Lake and Campbell underground mining and processing complexes, and Cochenour, a potential new source of ore. As Evolution’s newest asset and our first in North America, we are excited by the opportunities here.

About the role

The Graduate Environmental role key result areas include conducting activities related to various environmental monitoring programs, such as:

  • Spill response plan
  • Tailings management
  • Water and sewage treatment
  • Surface water and groundwater sampling
  • Air emissions
  • Waste management
  • Closure planning
  • Communicate with and manage external laboratory services.
  • Maintain water quality database and records.
  • Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free.
  • Comply with federal and provincial acts, regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Adhere to all Evolution Mining policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

About You

  • Graduated from an Environmental Technician program or related field within the last three years
  • Valid Class G driver’s license
  • Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Able and willing to relocate to Red Lake
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills with particular strength working with Microsoft Word and Excel programs
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and able to work effectively with others
  • Excellent organizational skills
