Opportunity – Intern Field Engineering

The Equinix Internship Program is a 12-week paid program that provides an opportunity to gain practical work experience and learn from some of the sharpest minds in the industry. You will work in a culture that thrives on innovation and delivering results and have the opportunity to build solid relationships with industry leaders, and fellow students from around the world.

In this 12-week program, you will have the opportunity to work in one of the largest data centers in Australia. You will be assigned projects to work on and have the opportunity to shadow the Field Engineers.

Sample Of Tasks You Will Learn

  • Installation, termination, testing, and labeling of all cross-connects (CAT6, Fibre, MDF phone line) in the IBX.
  • Perform remote hand services for customers.
  • Troubleshooting circuits with the use of OTDR and BERT Equipment.
  • Hardware installation including shelves, power strips, rails, cable management, and customer equipment.
  • Report current status via the ticketing system, shift reports, and email.

Program eligibility

  • You will need to available a minimum of 3 days per week and able to attend on-site at Mascot
  • Our Program is open to university students who are in the final year of their studies for a minimum three-year undergraduate degree
  • You will be graduating in 2022/23 to be eligible.
