Had a call with a recruiter then we set up the interview pretty swiftly, it then took a few months to arrive in China because of visa and paperwork, and was working with the recruiter through that process too

Online interview through teams that is competency based.

I may be a bit biased as I work in the hiring process, but I believe it's a fair and effective process.

I had one interview that wasn't so stressful. The person interviewing was in China. I remember speaking with them and hearing about their experiences and what life was like in China.

Different things about my previous work experience and projects I had worked on, discussed moving to China and culture shock that may happen too when you first arrive

They were situation questions testing for certain skills.

I was asked skill based questions.

Questions about my past experiences in work, and how I responded in those situations.

It was a while ago, so I don't remember much: Why do I want to teach in China? Have I ever traveled before? Do I enjoy being around kids? Any experience working with kids?

I didn't really know much about China or teaching before I applied, but thought it worth going ahead anyway. At the time I thought it was a big step, and family and friends said the same thing too, but arriving in China was just incredible and getting to share so many amazing experiences here with the expat community and meeting locals too. I also didn't have any teaching experience but there was a lot of on boarding and training at the beginning when I first arrived that helped put my mind at ease

Be as specific as possible, and include the steps that caused you to reach the conclusion of the event.

Be yourself! Think about situations or experiences that you've had during work in the past and be prepared to talk about how you responded and how thye made you feel.

Do your research on China! I personally didn't have any experience working with kids but I knew teaching and traveling was something I've always wanted to do.
