Pros and cons of working at EF English First

Pros

  • I love the diversity and openness of the company and its employees!

  • Best thing about EF is the support I got when I first arrived. I had two weeks of hotel paid for, help with setting up a bank account, and was given a Chinese SIM card to help keep in touch with my family. Definitely made it easier to adjust!

  • The support during the Visa process and in training.

  • Adventure, travel - loads of support and career development. Everyone is looking out for you!

  • Community, meeting other people from around the world, teaching the kids also very rewarding

Cons

    • During the busy seasons, the teaching hours are a bit longer but the bonuses we receive are nice.

    • Sometimes itโ€™s a bit tough working away from home.

    • Some expectations can be difficult to meet due to the current global climate

    • Salary

    • Havenโ€™t been able to visit my family back home because it is hard for me to re-enter China. But community here is great, so not necessarily a bad thing because everyone is in the same position during COVID
