Scope of role:

Working in our Safety Team you will be part of a crucial department that focuses on integrational safety management systems, processes, and culture within the heavy industry environment in Australia. Additionally, you will learn about environmental risk and improvement projects that are essential to ensure the fulfilment of DP World's safety and environmental objectives.

You will work on numerous rotations and projects that will consist of the following learnings:

  • An introduction to how HSE systems and sustainability are managed. You will learn how to apply systems thinking to HSE in a large multinational company and understand and apply critical thinking to HSE data and data analytics. You will explore the application of Legislative compliance and alignment with company standards in HSE. Additionally, you will have an introduction to building relationships and stakeholder engagement as it applies to HSE within the business.
  • Focus on HSE Risk and Control Management in High Risk Operations (Port & Terminal). You will look into HSE Data Analytics and reporting in an operational environment as well as HSE incident investigations. There will be a focus on HSE monitoring site inspection participation consultation and communication with the workforce and management. In this rotation, you will go onsite for HSE Projects participation.
  • Deep dive into data analytics to inform HSE strategy. You will explore the development of HSE improvement plans, objectives and action plans. You will learn about HSE audits and monitoring program participation and finish up participation in HSE National Projects.

Graduates will work across a range of Projects throughout the course of the program. Some may include:

  • Systems Improvement
  • Risk Management
  • Decarbonisation/sustainability

DP World offers a 2 year program where you will be able to explore all of the different areas of HSE and are looking for someone who is passionate about making a change and investing in the opportunity and journey that this program will take you on. 
Ideally, you will have a degree in the following:

Our Graduates work onsite alongside their teams. This will give you the very best opportunity to learn from your peers and teammates and really help with a sense of belonging. The location of these positions will be dependent on the rotation:

  • DP World Sydney Terminal (PBT - Port Botany Terminal) - 42 Friendship Rd, Port Botany NSW 2036
  • DP World Sydney Head Office (AHO - Australian Head Office) - Level 40, 25 Martin Place, Sydney NSW 2000
  • DP World Sydney Port Logistics park

What to do next:

To be eligible for our Graduate Program you'll need:

  • To have completed your studies (within the last two years i.e. 2021, 2022, 2023) and be ready to start full-time by February 2024
  • Have the Right to Work - be a permanent resident or Australian or New Zealand citizen at the point of application
