Your role

The Arts Coordinator provides oversight and coordination of prisoner participation in arts activities, including accredited art classes, University art courses, cultural events involving arts such as NAIDOC Week and Reconciliation Week exhibitions and projects, and external and internal exhibitions including the ongoing series of exhibitions at Fremantle Prison. The Arts Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring prisoner participation in art activities and the production and sale of prisoner artwork are carried out in a lawful, ethical, transparent, and culturally appropriate manner that complies with legislative and departmental requirements. This includes the legal rights of the prisoner artist ensuring the governance processes are adhered to regarding sales, commissioning, and ownership of prisoner art.

Arts Coordinator roles may earn an average of A$103,966 - A$114,590 per annum + Super (PSCA 2021)

About you

Here's what the Department of Justice WA is looking for in this role:

• Certificate IV Training and Assessment, or willingness to complete within six months of employment.
• Experience in the Field of Arts
• Project Management Skills
