You will learn and develop a range of public administration skills that support the functioning of business areas while undertaking a nationally recognised qualification. The duties of a trainee will incorporate a range of computer-based activities and tasks including:

On any one day, you can expect to:

  • Assists in providing services and administrative support as required. This includes, but is not limited to word processing, data entry, maintaining correspondence and filing systems.
  • Participates constructively and positively within workplace teams to achieve set tasks and goals.
  • Applies the principles of equity, diversity, occupational safety and health in the workplace and behaves in accordance with relevant standards, values and policies.

As a trainee, you will be given academic support and guidance to complete a Certificate III in Government.

Training & development

The Aboriginal Traineeship Program will run for 12 months. Those applicants found suitable will be placed in a pool from which Permanent Full Time/Part Time and Fixed Term Full Time/Part Time appointments, including extension(s), can be made.

They have vacancies all over the state, including the Perth metropolitan region, Karratha, South Hedland, Kalgoorlie, Bunbury, and Broome. They encourage applications from both regional and metropolitan areas.

Salary & benefits

As provided by the employer the Aboriginal Traineeship earn an average of A$28,869 to A$62,376 per annum pro rata.
