About the placement

You will apply your skills and knowledge in mobile applications development, IT and software design to help a growing business bring their product development and management in house. You will work closely with the owner of TDMN to enhance and refine both back-end and front-end processes, reporting dashboards, and improve the user experience for both the in house and end user. 

TDMN won an Australian Design award for their sMart Lock product, the company has gone through the initial research and design process and are now looking to grow their team and make further improvements to the product and their internal servers and IT processes. 

Work arrangements

  • Start date: Late April/ May 2024
  • Working arrangement: Part Time, negotiable with the Industry Partner TDMN
  • Remuneration: $25/hour on a temporary contract with the Industry Partner.
  • Location: Parramatta

Desired capabilities

  • Understanding and experience with mobile app development 
  • Able to work with the following software and programming languages 
    • Node JS, Postgres, Angular, iOS app SWIFT, android app and Firebase
  • Experience with and understanding pf sandbox and functional testing.
  • Able to conduct product testing 
  • Able to communicate progress and results clearly
  • Agree that the Intellectually Property developed is owned by the company TDMN. 

Requirements

  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate qualification.

About the Industry Partner

TDMN was founded in 2018 after years of investigating a coin-less and tracking solution for chopping trolleys. They designed a product that would use mobile technology to unlock and track abandoned shopping trolleys, providing a smart and informative product for retail companies. In 2019 they commenced our R&D journey and had their first working prototype by October 2019. In 2020 we received an AC grant along with an MVP grant. In 2021 sMart Lock won an Australian design award for innovation and design excellence.
