About the placement

This internship is with AKD and is facilitated by the CSIRO’s Generation STEM Links program.

As an environmental scientist you will work alongside the safety team and will have the opportunity to work across both lab-based projects and/or field work carrying out sample testing and analysis. You may also be involved in developing environmental risk assessments in line with the AKD safety team. Please note that your direct supervisor for this role will be remote and consider this in your application if applying to participate as part of your university program. AKD employs a zero-waste policy across the whole organisation.

Work arrangements

  • Start date: Winter OR Summer 2024
  • Working arrangement: Part-time or Full-time as agreed by student and AKD 
  • Remuneration: $25/h + super
  • Location: Tumut NSW
  • Accommodation support available for students outside of the region

Desired capabilities

  • In their penultimate to final year of a STEM degree or qualification.
  • A background in Environmental Science or similar
  • Ability to comprehend and translate complex problems.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.

Requirements

  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate qualification.
