Leading Waste Management Company seeks experienced, skilled Laboratory Technician to join Technical Services team based in Rutherford, NSW.

Cleanaway is the largest waste management company in Australia providing sustainable waste management solutions to a range of customers including councils, small businesses, large corporate entities, and government agencies.

As part of its Hydrocarbons business unit, Cleanaway aims to recover and recycle the maximum amount of waste oil possible to reduce the impact on the environment. Re-refining waste oil is a more cost-effective and environmentally sustainable solution than using new resources to create new base oils. The refinery at Rutherford specializes in processing up to 40,000 tonnes per annum of waste oil through hydrogenation, producing base oil for lube oil blending and industrial processes.

Your new role

  • Assisting the Quality Coordinator with the day-to-day operation of the Laboratory to ensure quality and regulatory reporting of plant operations are actioned and supported.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with colleagues, providing efficient and accurate analytical test results for all analysis within the laboratory
  • Ensure laboratory quality control assignments are met managing independent quality control calibrations
  • Supporting OHS requirements within the laboratory and maintain quality management system database for all quality data.

Skills and experience

To be successful for the position you will require the following:

  • Previous experience in sample preparation and wet chemistry.
  • Previous experience in document control and QA/QC
  • Written communication/reporting skills
  • You will also be adept in OHS & S practices and principles, with a Bachelor of Science degree or related Chemistry qualification.
