Your role

Aspiring students with a thirst to translate classroom knowledge into real-world experience are invited to join Citi's summer internship program. Citi seeks Summer Analysts to join their Equity Capital Markets (ECM) team in Asia Pacific. The ECM team plays a pivotal role in advising corporate clients on capital-raising activities, guiding them through every step of the deal process, from origination to execution.

The internship provides a comprehensive learning experience. The 11-week program kicks off with an intensive training program that combines informative orientation sessions with hands-on on-the-job training. Interns gain a deep understanding of advanced accounting concepts, financial modelling and valuation techniques, and Citi's core financial products. Throughout the summer, social events offer opportunities to connect and network with Citi professionals from various departments, gaining valuable insights into diverse experiences and the inner workings of the firm. Top-performing Summer Analysts will be offered the chance to join the following year's Graduate Analyst Program in 2025.

As a Summer Analyst in Equity Capital Markets, you will have the opportunity to work on multiple projects as if you were a full-time analyst. This is not a "shadow" position. You will be required to: 

• Compile, analyze, and assimilate financial information
• Research market moving events and relevant live deals, to prepare client-ready presentation materials to update on the capital markets
• Become familiar with equity products and play a fundamental role in deal origination and execution
• Understand the market factors and parameters for pricing an equity offering in the real world
• Work hard, be proactive, and contribute to the team in a dynamic and stimulating work environment

About you

They're looking for motivated individuals, who have a genuine desire to develop an understanding of the market environment and capital raising process.

• You are in your penultimate year of university pursuing a degree in any discipline
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with basic knowledge of finance and accounting
• Adaptability and resilience to work in a high-pressure environment, with the capacity to multi-task
• Intellectual curiosity and proactive eagerness to learn
• Strong attention to detail with commitment to accurate and high-quality work product
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Competent PowerPoint and Excel skills
