Your role

The graduate roles are within the  Asset and Projects Unit in Water and Sewer and will see you gaining skills and experience across a broad range of functions in your relevant area of study.

You will be able to apply the knowledge you have learnt to everyday situations and learn from professionals in the industry.

This is achieved through the adoption and implementation of sound engineering principles and practices while receiving mentoring to contribute to the provision of clean, safe drinking water and quality sewerage services for the customers.

If you are interested in assisting in tasks such as effective asset planning, improvement of operational and maintenance processes for water and sewer, or learning how to work safely and effectively in a highly regulated industry then this may be the graduate opportunity for you. 

These positions are required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Provide assistance in mapping, collecting and analysing water and sewer assets information by interpreting WAE drawings and validating through site visits and inspections as required for complex projects
  • Undertake the review and analysis of various data platforms to make recommendations for capital, operational and maintenance improvements
  • Undertake project scoping, stakeholder engagement, cost estimation and business case development for capital and operational projects.

This role provides a commencing salary range of between AUD 69,500 to AUD 83,400 per annum dependent on skills and experience +11% superannuation.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following:

  • Degree qualification in Mechanical, Civil or Chemical Engineering or relevant equivalent, combined with ongoing professional development
  • Current Class C Driver's licence
  • Construction General Induction card – NSW SafeWork or equivalent or willing to obtain
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft suite of applications (e.g. MS Teams, MS Word and MS Excel)
  • Demonstrated ability to participate and actively contribute in a team environment to achieve organisational goals and outcomes
  • Demonstrated a positive approach to the provision of customer service
  • Ability to complete work and deliver according to project schedules and competing deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to use judgement and problem-solving skills to achieve positive outcomes
  • Good communication skills, including both written and verbal, across varying audiences.
