The Data Engineer is responsible for identifying and implementing systems to increase the capacity of the Research team to Canstar.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Accelerate Canstar’s ratings deliveries to assist in empowering consumers to make better financial decisions 
  • Management of our data infrastructure to enable efficient modelling and analysis
  • Design and create new models to continue Canstar’s growth in new markets
  • Driving innovation through the implementation of new technologies and techniques
  • Collaborate with other departments in the building of strategic initiatives

What You Need To Bring To The Role:

  • Ability to liaise with key stakeholders across various teams
  • Proven time management and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Strong communications skills
  • Passion and interest in financial products and services
  • Ability to leave projects and build consensus across diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent Microsoft skills, particularly with Access and Excel
  • Strong understanding of database concepts
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Experience coding in either Python or R (or both)

What Will Give You The Extra Edge: 

  • Previous experience with Jenkins and server administration would be advantageous
  • Experience in the financial services industry
