Boeing Defence Australia's Aerospace Engineering & Production Capability provides a range of modification, production, repair and continuing airworthiness services to support Defence's Boeing-managed aircraft fleets and complex communication systems. About the opportunity

We are seeking a Graduate Armament Engineer to support to the Aerospace Engineering and Production (AEP) Capability.

As a member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for undertaking and developing your core knowledge about Aircraft Armament systems. This role will focus on the development of a graduate engineer into a fully trained Armament Engineer to support numerous Boeing Sustainment programs including Super Hornet, Autonomous Vehicles (ATS), C-17, EC135 Helicopters, Chinook and P8. If successful in this role, you will also engage Defence agencies in learning about conducting stores clearance and installed EO activities and operational test and evaluation.

This graduate opportunity will be based at RAAF Base Amberley QLD.

As a Graduate Armament Engineer you will:

  • Support service release activities.
  • Review technical artefacts required to support stores clearance process.
  • Assist with prioritising armament related work.
  • Collaborate with other Defence agencies to progress high priority armament tasks.
  • Assist with developing standing instructions.
  • Work towards gaining Engineering Authority and Delegations on the platforms you will be supporting.

About you

  • Have recently graduated (or about to graduate) with tertiary qualifications in one of the engineering disciplines, Electrical, Mechanical or Structural (Dual degrees accepted).
  • Have a GPA of 5.0 and above.
  • Competent in the use of PC, MS Windows and MS Office suite.
  • Ability to work successfully unsupervised and in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Express a desire to develop and attend training as an Armament Engineer, understanding Stores Management Systems, Explosive Ordnance and ejection systems
  • Assist in the development and growth of the BDA AEP Armament capability as a Junior Armament engineer developed by BDA.

Applicants must be Australian Citizens and be capable of obtaining an NV1 Defence security clearance.
