Graduate Geological Engineer or Geologist null

Graduate engineers and geoscientists at BGC can expect a mix of field and office work. Typical fieldwork includes site investigations (including drilling and downhole testing, testing pitting, field mapping, geophysical surveys, instrumentation installation, river/stream inspection, and geohazard assessment) and construction monitoring. Fieldwork typically involves 2-3 week long field stints in remote areas, and often multiple shifts, or a scheduled rotation. Typical office work includes reporting and interpretation of field data, engineering or geoscience analysis including material and site characterization, interpretation of instrumentation data, and contribution to designs. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, relevant work experience, and a desire to travel and work in diverse and remote conditions.

This role is a full-time position based in Brisbane, Australia with opportunities to travel to our Canadian offices and work on projects internationally.

Required Education, Experience, and Competencies:

• Enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a relevant undergraduate degree in Civil (Geotechnical/Hydrotechnical/General) or Geological Engineering, Geoscience, Geology, Geophysics, or a related field 0-5 years of experience
• Excellent written, presentation, and oral communications
• MS Office skills
• A post-graduate degree is an asset

Position Requirements: 

• Drug & Alcohol Testing

• Driver’s License 

BGC requires that employees have a valid driver's license and that employees can drive a field utility truck. Upon hiring, BGC will require a driving record to allow for a safety review of your driving history.

• Travel and Vaccination
