Job Description

BD Interventional provides leading innovations and life-enhancing devices in the fields of surgical, oncology, endovascular, urological, and critical care interventions that not only meet clinical needs but also deliver value to health systems and improve patients’ lives. Our devices help to advance the treatment of high burden diseases.

The Marketing Assistant will work in conjunction with the broader Interventional Marketing team to develop, co-ordinate and deliver marketing and communication materials that help to contribute to the achievement of budgeted sales and gross profit for the Interventional business across Australia and New Zealand. 

The Interventional team has a broad range of portfolios and thus, the successful candidate will obtain experience across a range of therapy areas, allowing them to build a strong foundation for a successful career in marketing and the medical device industry.

This is would ideally suit a new graduate or someone looking to commence their career in marketing. 

Responsibilities:

  • With direction from the Interventional Marketing team, oversee the development and localization of marketing materials, including coordinating their local Regulatory, Medical, Legal and Brand approval.
  • With direction from the Interventional Marketing team, coordinate the printing of materials such as brochures and pull-up banners.
  • With direction from the Interventional Marketing team, oversee the ‘demo’ process to ensure product samples are available.
  • Support the Interventional Marketing team with the maintenance of databases (e.g. ShowPad) and digital email campaigns (Marketo).
  • Support the Interventional Marketing team with marketing-led events (i.e. conferences, key opinion leader roadshows, webinars, etc), including overseeing the compliance process (Interactions Hub).
  • On an ad-hoc basis, support the Sales and Clinical teams with events such as state-based trade displays, international visitors, training sessions, etc.
  • Supporting the Interventional Marketing team with other general administrative tasks.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or Lifesciences (or related discipline) preferred.
  • Marketing and/or administrative experience desirable.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Highly motivated with a strong desire to learn.
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills, and an ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work autonomously and to be proactive in decision-making.
  • Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively is essential.
  • High attention to detail.
